According to local police in Glubczyce, southern Poland, the driver took a road that was closed a year ago when an artificial lake was created to serve as a water reservoir.
The driver ignored numerous road signs warning of a dead-end ahead and ended up neck-deep in the lake!
Police confirmed that that driver had not been drinking, but as it was still night time he didn’t notice that the road was leading to the lake ahead.
The unnamed driver’s Mercedes mini-van was almost entirely submerged in the water and was unable to back out on its own.
The driver and two passengers eventually escaped unharmed from the vehicle after they waited on the roof for the emergency services to arrive!
